Weather, Blogging, and of course Energy Bars
A real quick entry today, because I’m going to go lay in the sun for a little bit with some friends and just relax. I haven’t done that all semester, and it’s time it starts!
The weather is beautiful out today. 84 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It has brought out everyone; tossing frisbees around, sitting by the pond, or pulling out the portable grill and making some lunch, this is the weather that makes EVERYONE happy. Although, this has made me learn one lesson: People are less likely to read my blog when it is sunny and in the 70’s.
Sad, but true, my blog views fell over this past weekend, and my theory was because it was so nice out, and people wanted to hike, bike, walk, whatever. I don’t blame them at all, but they should have grabbed some healthy energy bars to get them through the day. So does this mean that more people view my blog when it is like a hurricane outside…well, yes, they do, according to my blog stats. It’s interesting how the weather and blogging are related.
I must be off to go lay in the sun, but before I go, I’m grabbing an energy bar that is in it’s development stages…Stay tuned to find out what the flavor is!

There’s a state park in Rhode Island?
NEWSFLASH: Rhode Island has state parks!
I was on the Bryant University website browsing around, and stumbled on a wiffle ball tournament being held by Greek Life. It was being held at the Lincoln State Park. Lincoln is right next to Smithfield, where Bryant is located. I had no idea of this, and it really makes me happy because I might actually go take a hike there before the end of the school year (which I can’t wait for by the way) just to clear my mind before I head home and get started on a great summer with Eddie’s Energy Bars. This whole hiking in Rhode Island thing brings me to my next point.
The highest point in the state of Rhode Island is 812 ft. Yes, you read correctly: 812 ft. Should that even be considered a high point? I think all the people who try to climb to every state’s highest peak should just skip over Rhode Island. It’s like non-existent, and not only is it non-existent, it is near impossible to actually get to, however that just recently changed. The new owners of Jerimoth Hill, have now allowed access to the hill (haha-a hill) every weekend of the year. That is so nice of them!
The reason I bring up hiking, is because it is looking like the weather these next few days will be a FANTASTIC time to go out hiking. While it may not be the greatest hike you have ever taken, it will be great exercise, as hiking burns a ton of calories, and when you reach the summit, the pictures are beautiful, and the accomplishment you feel is incredible!
To propel you up the mountain (or hill if you are hiking in Rhode Island), you are going to need some high quality, healthy energy bars. Hike on over to the Eddie’s Energy Bars website before your next outing and pick up some tasty energy made in the Green Mountain state of Vermont. You’ll be glad you did!
Enjoy the great weather this weekend!

April Snow Showers Bring No May Flowers

Not my usual topic today, but I am going to talk about something that is talked about across the globe, and at many watercoolers in the corporate world, and that’s the weather.
What is going on here? It’s Apil 4th and there is snow, rain, and even a nice dose of hail that came down earlier this morning. I know we’re actually getting some accumulation up in Vermont, where Eddie’s all natural homemade energy bars are manufactured. I read in a Burlington Free Press article today, that there have been only two April’s on record where it has not snowed in Vermont. I thought that was a crazy statistic–two times!
Despite the ugliness of snow and cold, I think it’s time for spring. I find it quite hilarious when the TODAY show talks about making sure your lawn is green for summer when there is still snow on the ground…I don’t understand. One thing I want to make sure you are ready for are these beautiful spring and summer months, loaded with geting outside into the fresh spring air and eating lots and lots of energy bars.
The next day it hits above 60 degrees, I say we all get outside and go for a run, bike, hike, or a walk. This day needs a name–any ideas?
