Local High School is Being Green

On our last delivery to Champlain Valley Union High School, we were delighted to see that they had been keeping our Ziplocs that we provide to retailers so they can keep their bars in the freezer, and remove as needed.

This was an incredible act of kindness towards Eddie’s Energy Bars.  They had a collection of thirty some-odd bags that they had accumulated over a couple of weeks.

We love to reuse our Ziploc bags, and do so very often.  Yes, it is a plastic bag, but it needs to be a plastic bag so our bars don’t obtain any freezer burn–our bars are food.  They have feelings too!

Being Green is Being Cool, and CVU is doing a great job.  Thanks!

The Eddie’s Family Meets for the Weekend

My parents came down to visit me this weekend at school (although they will see in me in just a few short days for the All Sports, Recreation, and Fitness Expo).

We had a fun time down here in Rhode Island. Friday night, we were blown away by a magician who did some ESP, and then on Saturday, we spent the day down in Newport shopping around and enjoying the seafood festival that was going on. We also talked about next year’s business goals–that’s a post later on this week probably.

Sunday, we enjoyed a great breakfast at T’s in Cranston, RI. It was then time to say goodbye to my parents, so they could drive back up to Vermont.

I’m so excited to go home this weekend! Woohoo! Until tomorrow!

A Little Label Tweaking

 

A lot of you guys hear me talk about wanting be a fun brand, an awesome place to work, and put out awesome energy bars, etc. So, I played with the label I posted a couple days ago and made it “fun”, I think. Kind of a big change, is the line of bright pink text on the back. I think it’s pretty cool. This label is, as the last one, in its testing phases. My uncle is seeing what he can come up with, and it will be posted here to get some input from you guys, our totally awesome customers! We’re looking to unveil the label hopefully sometime this year.

What do you all think?  I like them.  Would you pick our bar off the shelf if it had this label?  Is it better than our old one?

Writing for the School Paper

Hey All,

I’m writing for the Archway, Bryant University’s school newspaper.  My first article is up.
