Eddie’s Owner Goes to China

This wonderful cold spell is finally coming to an end, and so is my time in Vermont.  I am heading to China on Sunday for two weeks, as part of a school trip.  I am really looking forward to the trip.  We are going to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guilin.

Don’t worry!  You can still order your energy bars online, or pick them up at one of our retailers.

Speaking of retailers, we have now completed a triangle of Sports and Fitness Edge.  We moved in to the South Burlington and Williston locations yesterday.  It’s very exciting!

Have store ideas?  Contact us!

I’ll be back in two weeks!  Many pictures will be posted from my trip, so stay tuned!

The Post-Christmas Rush

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday this week, and that Santa brought what you wanted.  He certainly brought what I wanted!

It has been a nice break since being home for winter break.  I have gotten a lot done over the past two weeks, but it has really hit me that we are back in the swing of things.

Sure, I had the 24th-26th off from everything Eddie’s, and then on the 27th everything  was back to normal.  The online orders were coming in, and stores wanted a re-stock of our energy bars.  I finally was able to run the business my parents had been running for me the entire school year, with me doing some back-end administrative work (making all the contacts, the website, etc).

I touched base with all of my retail accounts that sell Eddie’s, and they are all doing well.  I can’t wait to get back home in the spring for break and try to get into a couple more stores.

We’re growing, and that’s evident by the post-Christmas rush we are having.  Maybe it’s because everyone is buying our healthy energy bars to assist in their New Year’s resolutions?

An Alternative Way to Cook Your Turkey
November 19, 2007, 2:45 pm

Here we are at the beginning of the famous turkey week, and boy, what a week it is going to be! I’m heading home from school tomorrow morning, and I am very excited to be back in Vermont with my family and friends. This time of year till year’s end is a great time of year, so why not start things off right with an awesome turkey for you and your guests at your Thanksgiving table this week?

We are going to use our turkey fryer this year, but one of these years I would like to try the method that my 11th grade English teacher told me about. Here goes:

1. For those willing to dig a hole in their backyard, go ahead and do so….two by two feet or so should work, and about 1.5′ deep (big enough to house your turkey).

2. Cover the bottom of your hole with coals, a couple of inches high, and lite a fire.

3. Wrap your turkey (with associated spices) in foil, and slow cook it for a couple of hours, testing to see if it’s done.

And voila, a nice and moist smoked turkey. If you don’t feel like butchering your backyard, a turkey fryer produces incredible turkey…mmmm…..

New Site on the Way

Hi Everyone,

The Eddie’s Crew has been hard at work trying to get a new website up and running that caters to your needs, with easier navigation to answers of your questions, and just a simpler, cleaner site.

We’re implementing a new label, so we figured a new site was in order, to show off our fresh, handmade energy bars.

To check on our progress: head on over to www.eddiesenergy.com

Anyone Interested in Eddie’s T-shirts?

Hi all,

I am looking for some feedback here. There has been a rising interest in our “powered by Eddie’s Energy” t-shirts. We are thinking about ordering some for our totally awesome customers who would like to purchase them. There are already customers who would like them, so I am wondering if anyone else out there is interested in purchasing a t-shirt?

Yep. That’s the art that will go on a white t-shirt. If you have interest in one, please let me know. We are probably going to order some t-shirts by the middle of November. Estimated cost is around $10.

Thanks!
