Famous Vermont Faces Try Eddie’s Energy Bars!
This weekend at the All Sports trade show, many momentous events occurred. One of these momentous events was the Governor of Vermont and his wife, Jim and Dorothy Douglas, trying Eddie’s Energy Bars for the first time. They thoroughly enjoyed them, and purchased two bars. Below is a picture of the Governor trying a bar.

Secondly, we got to give some energy bars to the members of the 2007 ABA Champion Vermont Frost Heaves. They truly engulfed our bars, all coming back with rave reviews. Below is a picture of me, the team, and their mascot, Bump.

This was a fun time had by all. I met a whole bunch of other people at the expo, whom I will profile throughout the rest of the week.

Eddie’s Energy Bars to Climb Everest!
No, no, no, the employees of Eddie’s Energy Bars are not climbing Everest, but a very adventurous man is climbing Everest with the help of Eddie’s Energy Bars. This is so incredibly exciting, that I must tell you the story:
It was just a couple of minutes ago that I called the Vermont Green Grocer, one of our retail accounts, and made sure our bulk order was in place. After we secured the order, Kris, the owner, had a little story to tell me.
She said that last week a gentleman came in wearing a Shelburne Farms sticker (some things are touristy to us Vermonters!), and he was looking around for a couple of minutes and said ‘Oh, here they are!’, pointing to our awesome wood crate that we sell our homemade energy bars in. He then told Kris that he was taking our bars up Everest! Kris then asked him how he had heard about our awesome product. He replied that he saw our article in Backpacker Magazine’s August issue, and since he was in the area, he decided to drive up to Vermont Green Grocer and pick up some bars (he was traveling up from New Jersey). So, he took eight Eddie’s Energy Bars to feed and power him up Everest–how cool is that?
So, that is the happy news for the day. It’s why we’re in business. We love the thought of knowing that people enjoy our energy bars, and eat them all the time. We thank you for that!
To the man climbing Everest with Eddie’s Energy Bars, good luck, and please contact us after your trip!

Eddie’s Energy Bars in Seven Days
Great news everyone!
Eddie’s Energy Bars (and our side business, Vermustard) have appeared in the Seven Days newspaper up in Vermont! I’ve always wanted to land in this paper, as I read it weekly (the paper version when I’m home, and the online version when I’m at school)
Click here to read the article.
Thanks for spreading the word about both of our companies!

Eddie’s Energy Bars Now in New Jersey!
We’ve gone out of state starting sometime in the next couple of days. After talks with the owner of the Boro Bean in Hopewell , New Jersey, they have decided to carry Eddie’s Energy Bars for their very lucky patrons.
This is fantastic for EEB, as we are trying to slowly take over the nation with our homemade energy bars, one state, and one person at a time.
So, if you’re in New Jersey, stop by the Boro Bean in Hopewell, NJ! It’s on East Broad St. If you’re not in New Jersey but would love our energy bars, you can purchase our Vermont goodness here.
Have a great day!

EEB Owner Nominated for Global Award
I’m jumping like a Mexican jumping bean right now! A couple of days ago I was nominated for the Global Student’s Entrepreneurship Awards by one of its organizers. This is pretty exciting for me to get recognized as a global entrepreneur. A global homemade energy bar maker–that has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
However, the regional competition has already finished, but I was told there was a possibility that I could be a wild-card entry into the competition. After looking further into the competition application, I decided not to apply because what they wanted from me was something I was not willing to give up.
Alas, this is still really exciting, and I’ll be sure to throw it right on my resume for future job/internship applications. Unless, EEB explodes like wildfire, which might happen in September and October. Woohoo!
Exciting times with excited people–couldn’t ask for more.
