A Great Testimonial From Our Friends in Georgia!
We are sending energy bars all over the place these days, and get testimonials here and there. Recently, we received a very glowing testimonial from our friends Roy and Tina:
Hey Michael!
We are having a great time. We even had a chance to go to Savannah for the first stage of the Tour de Georgia. Your energy bars are amazing! I love the texture and taste of several. We are developing favorites. Just as you said, even frozen they remain soft. I must admit, I was skeptical. We are getting low and need to place another order soon! We can’t wait to see how this season goes since we have found such great bars and an amazingly personable business!! You truly care about your customers. We have been sharing the good news about your bars with everyone! A few lucky ones have even had the chance to try a tiny bite.
I’ll be in touch very soon.
Thanks so much!!
Roy and Tina

Introducing Our New Eco-Friendly Packaging
I am very proud to announce that we will be switching over to a new bag in the coming weeks. This bag is not only clearer, but uses a lot less plastic than our last bags. Less plastic means less fossil fuels are being used to produce our bags, which is great for the planet!
Not only are the bags environmentally friendly, but they are a lot easier to open–no knives required! All you have to do now is tear the sealed side of the bag, and it rips right open. We hope that this will help in accessing our delicious energy bars.
Unfortunately, these bags are not recyclable yet, so please dispose of them properly.
Thanks!

Happy Earth Day 2008
Good morning,
Happy Earth Day! I think Earth Day will be very effective, especially this year with everyone thinking about greener alternatives to fuels and everyday products like spoons and tote-bags.
Awareness for the earth is thwarted down by many people who seem to think that they will not be affected by the melting of the glaciers or the rising C02 levels in the atmosphere. Well, the reality, is that we are all being affected as we speak. When you climb to the top of a mountain and the view is cloudy, welcome to pollution. When thousands of plastic bags are thrown away, welcome to an incredible waste of resources. There are so many ways that one can be affected that I couldn’t even list them all here.
Please, do your part to save the earth, whether it’s carpooling with a friend to work (saves the planet and your wallet) or turn off all of the lights in your house not currently in use. There are plenty of ways to help out.
For more information, please visit the Earth Day website.
Michael
PS: We have had lots going on at Eddie’s in the past couple of weeks, so stay tuned for incredible updates!
Our Brief Appearance on BusinessWeek TV
We just got word from the awesome editors at Pilates Style Magazine that the editor that did our spread in the March issue was featured on BusinessWeek TV, which aired Sunday on ABC. Here’s a link to the video clip (it’s near the end):
Eddie’s Energy Bars appear on Business Week!
Yep. We Don’t Use Apple Powder.
I was in the local Stop and Shop in Greenville, Rhode Island yesterday, and I saw something that I honestly hope I never see again. As we were checking out, I decided to go check out the Entenmann’s display. The first thing I picked up was some sort of apple pie square. I flipped it over and started reading. One of the very first ingredients I read was apple powder, followed closely by a whole bunch of words that I failed to pronounce. Oh, and there also was high fructose syrup, corn syrup, sugar, and fructose, or some combination thereof.
How many ways can you write down high fructose corn syrup? I didn’t know it broke down into many different items, all bad for you, regardless. The bigger catastrophe was the apple powder. Who would flavor something with a powder, when you can use real apples? Yes, I’m sure the powder is cheaper, but please, please, do not skimp on the quality of products!
At Eddie’s, we do not use apple powder, or any form of fructose anything to flavor or sweeten our energy bars. We use real oranges, dried cranberries, and 100% real Vermont maple syrup to flavor a couple of our bars. You can pronounce everything on the ingredient label, and there is no long list of preservatives.
So, when it all comes down to it, which product would you like? Order your Eddie’s Energy Bars today!
