Jarred’s Run: A Great Success!

Hey everyone,

As you know, Eddie’s Energy Bars participated in Jarred’s Run this past Thanksgiving, by giving every runner a free bar. It was awesome to be at an event in Richmond because we met plenty of people that eat our energy bars on a regular basis–one woman only eats them straight out of the freezer! I personally like them cold too.

There ended up being over one hundred runners on the cold and rainy Thanksgiving day. The weather certainly did not deter these crazy runners that would run in pretty much any condition. We got some good pictures, including one of part of the Eddie’s crew.

In the picture (from left to right): Eddie himself, me, my brother, Ryan, who came in second place in the 5k powered by Eddie’s Energy Bars, and Eli Howard, the winner of the 10K race. Eli just recently raced at the NCAA Division 3 Nationals, and did very well. He eats Eddie’s bars all the time, and graduated with me in high school.

Dwayne and Maureen, the parents of Jarred are incredibly awesome people that look to hold this event every year. With incredible attendance and an awesome crowd of people dedicated to raising money for the Jarred Williams Foundation, Eddie’s Energy Bars will most definitely be a part of this awesome event for years to come.

Stay tuned for future events we are going to be at. Don’t forget to come visit us at the grand opening of the Rehab Gym in Colchester from 3-5 tomorrow.

Just a quick note today.  Our energy bars can now be purchased at the Fusion Fit Club in Newport Richey, Florida.  I have been talking with the manager down there, and she is super excited about carrying our product.

The bars have Fusion’s logo on them, but don’t worry, they are still the same great bar.  So, stop on by the club if you are in the area, and get a taste!

We got a call today from the Rehab Gym, and they want us to be at the grand opening of their new facility, just off 89 in Colchester, VT.  Well, of course we accepted!

The grand opening is this Thursday from 3-5 for the general public, and then from 5-7 for area medical professionals.

They have got an incredible facility up there, with an amazing staff to help you with all of your therapy, exercise and lifestyle needs.

Check out the Rehab Gym website, and we hope to see you there on Thursday.  You will get a chance to meet Eddie, the head of research and development, and Jeanne, head of operations for Eddie’s.  Unfortunately, I am unable to attend this awesome event, as I just headed back to school to finish up the semester.

An Alternative Way to Cook Your Turkey
November 19, 2007, 2:45 pm

Here we are at the beginning of the famous turkey week, and boy, what a week it is going to be! I’m heading home from school tomorrow morning, and I am very excited to be back in Vermont with my family and friends. This time of year till year’s end is a great time of year, so why not start things off right with an awesome turkey for you and your guests at your Thanksgiving table this week?

We are going to use our turkey fryer this year, but one of these years I would like to try the method that my 11th grade English teacher told me about. Here goes:

1. For those willing to dig a hole in their backyard, go ahead and do so….two by two feet or so should work, and about 1.5′ deep (big enough to house your turkey).

2. Cover the bottom of your hole with coals, a couple of inches high, and lite a fire.

3. Wrap your turkey (with associated spices) in foil, and slow cook it for a couple of hours, testing to see if it’s done.

And voila, a nice and moist smoked turkey. If you don’t feel like butchering your backyard, a turkey fryer produces incredible turkey…mmmm…..
