More of a Country Fan

Howdy,

I went to an incredible concert last night, here on campus.  It was a four bland blowout to celebrate Bryant’s homecoming.  It includes the likes of It Was the Best of Times, Jeff LeBlanc, Matt Nathanson, and Luke Bryan.

It started off somewhat different with IWTBOT, but got better with Jeff LeBlanc.  I ended up purchasing this guy’s CD.  I had seen him before on campus, and came just to see him again.  Check Jeff’s music out here.

Jeff was followed by Matt Nathanson, who really didn’t do it for me.  He was so-so.  Luke Bryan closed out what was an up-beat night with his country songs.  Now, I’m not really a country fan, but every live country performance I have been to has definitely rocked the house with energy, personality, and the like.  The solos were incredible, and the lyrics were meaningful.  I highly suggest seeing Luke Bryan live in concert.

Of my memorabilia, I picked up the Jeff LeBlanc CD, and a Luke Bryan guitar pick.

Overall, it was a great night.  I hope you enjoyed your weekend as well!  Lot’s of orders came in over the weekend, so we’ll be filling those Monday morning.

Congratulations Boves of Vermont!

Congrats to Boves on their admission onto a Food Network show.  They wouldn’t let out what show it was, but judging by the video they submitted, I think it’s going to be Throw Down with Bobby Flay.  After all, Mark Bove, the owner, challenged Bobby to a throw down for the best meatballs–and no one beats Bove’s meatballs, or Bove’s anything for that matter.

A couple of months ago, I wrote about my last experience at Bove’s, tasting the new Sweetza.  It was tasty.

Anyway, congrats again Bove’s.  I might drive up to Vermont just to see Bobby Flay, or whomever the Food Network celebrity is.

Oh, and PS: I don’t get the Food Network here at Bryant…ugh!

Fall–Where are You!?

Today, I am sitting at my computer (actually reading my marketing textbook) melting away because it is so unbelievably hot today. It got up around ninety degrees, with some nice humidity to top it off.

I’m sorry. Isn’t it almost October? Aren’t the leaves supposed to be changing colors? Shouldn’t I be wearing jeans?

All questions I am wondering right now. Where are the sixty degree days with cool nights? Anyone? Tom Messner? Gib Brown? Sharon Meyer?

Fall started by the calendar, but it’s no where in sight.

Hey All,

I’m writing for the Archway, Bryant University’s school newspaper.  My first article is up.

You can read it here.  It’s titled: “You can Wear a Suit! I’m wearing Shorts.”

Pretty much every week, I will have a new article for the paper, and you will be able to read it on the Bryant Archway website.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hiking in Rhode Island

Good morning,

Yesterday I went on a fantastic fall hike through Lime Rock Preserve in Lincoln, RI with a couple of friends from school.  I wish I had the opportunity to take some pictures, but I accidentally put dead batteries in my camera before I left (oops!).

I took along my last remaining Eddie’s Energy Bar that I have in my freezer, and ate it on the hike.  It was Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, for all of you who are dying to know what energy bar flavor I eat.  I eat them all, actually.

In terms of hiking, it wasn’t exactly a hike. It was more of a nature walk, as the highest point in Rhode Island is something like 872 feet.  There was nothing wrong with that though.  We climbed some rocks, looked out over a reservoir, and found lots of frogs in still water down a hill.  We then perched on some rocks and had a snack, and talked about how fun it would be to go to work in a t-shirt and shorts–basically my goal in life.

While on the hike, I said to my friends that hiking outside was so much better than walking on a treadmill inside of a stuffy gym.  I would do it any day, but winter kind of gets in the way.  If you’re sick of getting your cardio in at the gym, try going for a fall hike, and I’m sure you won’t regret it.
