Ok, I am posting late for a reason. Here is a little bit of background before I go into this post. I was working hard (or hardly working) on my Global Politics paper the entire day, and I pushed the gym off till later tonight. Now, the gym is supposed to be open until 11:00 pm on Saturday, but apparently, an exception was made, in that the gym would close somewhere prior to 8:00 pm. No one told me this! So, being the entrepreneur that I am, I knew I had to think of a new idea. I held my bag tight to my shoulders, and ran all the way back to my dorm, from the gym. It was all I could think of…It was half freezing outside, and I needed to move my legs. Despite having to breathe a little bit harder, I managed to make it back safe and sound, but I’m not quite done with my super-mini-workout.
I still needed to lift. What better to lift with than my textbooks? I took my math book, my accounting book, and the phone book, a combined probably 20 pounds, and started doing bicep curls. Granted, it was below what I could really do in the gym, but it was better than doing nothing at all. In between textbook reps (no, not the annoying people that try and sell their company textbook) I would do some push-ups. It worked great!
I was thinking about lifting the fridge (it has some homemade energy bars in it), but then I thought that probably wasn’t such a good idea.
Have you ever used things around the house to workout with? Let me know by leaving a comment below!
OK, time to go work on that paper some more.
Have a great weekend!
